Kamon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a well-established fitness hub located in Portsmouth. Having opened its doors in 2006, it holds the title of the longest-running Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school in the area. The school is renowned for its expansive knowledge base, led by one of the highest-ranking European black belts, Kevin Chan.
The ethos of Kamon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu centres around a no-ego, relaxed training environment. Lessons are always led by black or brown belt BJJ instructors, ensuring high-quality teaching. The classes, which run for an hour and a half, attract a diverse clientele, with current students ranging from 13 to over 50 years old.
Accessibly priced, Kamon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu offers a 'pay as you go' system at £10 per lesson, or an unlimited classes package at just £60 per month. A welcoming feature of the school is the lack of joining or membership fees, reinforcing its inclusive approach.
While most classes are held at the main gym, it's worth noting that Tuesday and Friday sessions take place at Priory School Lower Gym, and Sunday classes at Fort Purbrook Activity Centre.
